I have been a Registered nurse (RN) for almost 30 years. This profession has been a blessing in my life. There are many nursing programs available, such as LPN, RN, LPN to RN bridge programs, associate degree programs, bachelors, masters programs, doctoral, the list seems endless. These days you can do your practicum at a hospital and much of your coursework can be completed on-line. The on-line options, weekend classes and evening classes allow us to work and attend college at the same time. If financing your education is a problem, there are many programs available such as tuition reimbursement and repayment programs at the state and federal level. Veterans Affairs and Indian Health offer repayment programs. There are many options available to nurses, such as full-time work, part-time, PRN, agency, traveling to name a few. Positions may be offered, Monday through Friday, weekends only, 8 hour shifts, 12 hour shifts, many options are available. If you want to touch a person’s life, nursing is the perfect choice.
