Winning 101 by Van Crouch

The Jabez Prayer

And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying,

“Oh that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory,

That Your hand would be with me,

And that you would keep me from evil

That I May cause no pain!”

So God granted him what he requested

1Chronicles 4:10

Whatever the dream God has given you, act upon it! Where God calls, he always provides- the power, strength, energy, finances and courage you need to fulfill the dream.

The only thing that stands between a man and what he wants from life is merely the will to try it and the faith to believe that it is possible. Do you believe in the fire that God has kindled within you? Do you care “like blazes” about something? Then burn the midnight oil with your own zeal and God’s wisdom and go about making your dream a reality.

You are about to experience a turning point. Stay in the game~   its too soon to quit. Always remember that storms come for a reason, and they come only for a season. Discover what you are to learn through the storm and then weather it out.

As you grow and mature, God will reveal more of your dream and you will begin to see the big picture. You may have to amend your dream. Even if that happens, continue to believe what God has planted in tour heart. He would not have called you to the “other side” if he had not intended for you to arrive there. God has a purpose in your arriving also—and it will always include blessing someone in need.

The first step toward changing the quality of your life is to believe that it is possible to do so! The second step is to find those who can help you get there and who will root for you along the way.

What you get by reaching your destination isn’t nearly as important as what you become by reaching that destination.

Anyone who thinks they are a leader and doesn’t have anyone following them is just out for a walk.

Success lies in forming the habit of doing things that failures don’t like to do

When your interested in something you do it only when it is convenient, When your committed to something, you accept no excuses, only results.

Ask God to help you identify and then build on your strengths. Ask Him to help you find assistants and friends who can compensate for your weakness.

What lies behind us and what lies before us are small matters compared to what lies within us.

When you are making a success of something, its not work. It’s a way of life. You enjoy yourself because you are making your contribution to the world.

The greatest thing in this world is not so much where we stand as in what direction we are going!

Opportunities are usually disguised as hard work, so many people don’t recognize them!

A young man who was held back a year in school was labeled “mentally handicapped.” Fortunately for him, one of the people he encountered was a man name LeRoy Washington. He was known for his powerful presence and kind reputation. Mr. Washington noticed the young man who attended his classes without ever being enrolled.

One day he called upon the young man to write something on the board. “I can’t do that, sir”, he said. Why not?  The teacher ask. The youth was embarrassed to admit that he was in the special education class. “It doesn’t’ matter,” Washington said. “Go to the board and follow my instruction.” The youth said, “I can’t. I am educable mentally retarded.”

Washington seized the moment. He arose from his desk, gazed long and hard at the young man and said, “Do not ever say that again. Someone’s opinion of you does not have to become your reality.”

“In that moment, Les Brown says, “my life began to follow a new course.”

Wisdom principles of Mike Murdock

Those who are unwilling to lose, rarely do!

Winners are simply ex-losers who got mad. They got tired of failure. The day you get mad at failure is the day you start winning! Circle the date on your calendar. Decide that the happiest and most productive days of your life are starting today! Never quit! You may be minutes away from a miracle!

Wisdom principle

Give another what he cannot find anywhere else and he will keep returning!

Wisdom principle

You will never possess what you are unwilling to pursue!

Wisdom principle

The secret to your future is hidden in your daily routine.  God always honored men who planned!

Make a list of things you want to do every day of your life. Write 6 things to accomplish that day. Assign each task to a specific time. If you cannot plan for 24 hours, what makes you think you can plan for the next 24 years?  Successes are scheduled events, failures are not! Planning is  tedious, but sometimes you have to do something you hate to create something you love! Some people are so busy “mopping up the water”, they do not take the time to turn off the faucet!

No simply means to ask again.

Someone needs what you have. Your contribution is essential for their success!

You were create to change someone! Every person you meet is trying to change their life in some way! They desire excellence, financial freedom, they want their health to improve, they hate loneliness, the list is endless! You may not be sent to everyone, but you were definitely sent to help someone!

Stop and think for a moment. What are your greatest gifts? What are you good at, a good speaker, a good listener? Whatever your gift is, that is what God will use to bless others through you! Someone has been waiting on you for a lifetime!

Your future begins with what is in your hands today!

Wisdom principle

You must be willing to go where you have never been to create something you have never had!

Wisdom principle

You will only have significant success with something that becomes an obsession! You may have to start small, but if what you love begins to consume your mind, your thoughts, your conversations, look for extraordinary success.

Wisdom principle

Stop looking at where you have been and start looking at where you are going!

Wisdom principle

Pay any price to stay in the presence of extraordinary people!

Wisdom principle

Make decisions that will create the future you desire!

Wisdom principle

What you hear repeatedly, you will eventually believe!

Everything is difficult at first!

Thousands will fail in life because they are unwilling to make changes! They want to stay in their comfort zones! Yet, thousands of others will move up the ladder of happiness because they are willing to go through a little discomfort to experience a new level in life!

Wisdom principle

Your rewards in life are determined by the problems you solve for someone else! Dear Lord, please teach me how I can turn what I desire to do or be into money. With your help, I can accomplish your desires!

Wisdom principle

When you decide what you want, the “how-to-do-it” will emerge!

Take four sheets of paper. Sheet one, write, “My lifetime dreams and goals.” Write everything you want to become, do or have in your lifetime.

On sheet number 2 write  “my next 12 month goals.” On the third sheet, write “my thirty day goals.”

On the fourth sheet of paper, write, “my ideal daily success routine.” Now write down the 6 most important things you will do in the next 24 hours.

Wisdom principle

Whatever you have in your hand can create anything you want in your future!

Wisdom principle

The broken become masters at  mending!

Wisdom principle

Those who unlock your compassion are those to whom you have been assigned!

“Distracted walking” by cellphone users sending pedestrians to ER

A new study shows that cell phones are not only a hazard to drivers, but also a hazard to those walking. Pedestrians are more likely to be injured while using their cell phones.  An estimated 1500 people were treated in U.S. emergency rooms as a result.

Nasar, a professor at Ohio State University who studies cellphones and distractions, reports that pedestrians on public streets are more likely to have close calls with cars if they are using their cell phones.  The investigators identified that the estimated number of pedestrian injuries linked to cellphones –including those that had nothing to do with cars, such as walking into something had increased to over 1500 emergency room visits a year.

Distracted walking

Injuries reported in emergency room records included such incidents as a 21-year-old male who suffered a sprained elbow and spinal sprain when he was hit by a car while on his phone, another walked into a pole and required stitches to his brow, and  another was a 14 year-old boy who  fell several feet off of a bridge into a ditch, causing injury to his chest.

Distracted walking

People under 31 were among the most likely to be hurt while walking and using a cellphone, with those aged 21-25 sustaining the most injuries, followed by 16-20 year olds. Men were slightly more likely than women to be pedestrians victims.

This study appears in the Journal Accident Analysis and Prevention.

7 habits of highly effective people

1.     Habit 1: Be proactive

Reactive people allow outside influences (feelings, circumstances) to control their responses.

Proactive people pause to allow themselves the freedom to choose their responses based on desired results.

Proactive language                                                         Reactive Language

“Let’s look at the alternative”                                        “There’s nothing we can do”

“I can choose a different approach”                                “That is just the way I am”

“ I control my own feelings”                                               “He makes me so mad”

“I can create an effective presentation”                          “They won’t allow that”

“I will choose an appropriate response”                          “I have to do that”

“I choose”                                                                                “I can’t”

“I prefer”                                                                                   “I must”

“I will”                                                                                         “If only”

Habit 2: Begin with the end in mind—the habit of vision

Paradigm:

Ineffective:  I live by default

Effective: I live by design

A Personal Mission Statement is a statement by which you make all decision for your life.  Highly effective people shape their own future instead of letting other people or circumstances determine it.

Benefits of a personal mission statement:

·         Faster solutions to problems

·         More team involvement

·         Richer relationships

Behavior
